After the 2020 NBA Draft, Tate signed a free agent contract with the Rockets. Since then, he has made 224 appearances, averaging 9.8 points and 4.7 rebounds per game.

“Udoka would rather find another big man who can play alongside him in certain lineups, similar to Williams and Al Horford during Udoka’s one and only season in Boston, than just someone who can fill in for him while \engün is on the bench.

To help close a deal, Houston can provide second-round selections and draft money in addition to Boban Marjanović’s expiring contract or perhaps a longer-term salary like center Landale. Jae’Sean Tate, on the other hand, is mobile and is reportedly drawing interest from teams like Boston and Phoenix, according to league sources. — Iko
