Marvin Williams, the Blues’ assistant academy manager, is leaving the team after just over a year at Playford Road.

Williams, 36, a former winger for Millwall and Brentford, became a member of the team 14 months ago after serving as the youth manager for Sutton United.

Williams posted a notice of his departure on LinkedIn, stating, “My time at Ipswich Town will be coming to an end.” First of all, I am immensely grateful and proud to have been offered such a fantastic opportunity at a HUGE club.

I have learned so much and been exposed to some excellent working habits while in this position; I will always remember these things.

“The club is obviously embarking on a very exciting adventure, and I want nothing but the best for them and the academy along the road.

I’m going to start looking forward and looking for new opportunities. Let’s see what happens in the upcoming chapter.

However, the U18s’ match against Millwall this morning has been postponed. The game will now take place on Tuesday, May 7.
