Following the breakdown of a move to Marseille, Josh Doig completed his move to Sassuolo.

When OM tried to bring the former Hibs defender in from Hellas Verona, he was on the verge of making the transition to Ligue 1. Sassuolo was able to intervene as he was getting about to board a flight to France at the airport.

The Scotland international reportedly completed a £4.3 million deal to leave, which will fetch his old club a substantial one-time payment. Initially, he had agreed to sell for 27.5 percent of his salary when he left for Serie A in 2022.

Transfer wizard Fabrizio Romano declared on social media that he had completed his move to Alessio Dionisi’s team and that the only things remaining to do were medical testing.
