With the January transfer window open for business, one player attracting significant interest is Hearts striker Lawrence Shankland.
Shankland joined the Jambos from Belgian side Beerschot in July 2022, and he enjoyed an outstanding debut season at Tynecastle last term, scoring 28 goals and providing four assists in 47 appearances in all competitions to help his side to a fourth-placed finish in the Scottish Premiership.
His fine form has continued into this season, with the 28-year-old scoring 18 goals and registering three assists in 28 games so far, and Hearts could be facing a battle to hold on to their captain this month.
According to a report by Graeme Bailey from HITC, Shankland is on the radar of Championship sides Southampton, Hull City and Middlesbrough, while Celtic, Everton, Sheffield United, Crystal Palace and Burnley are also keen.
Southampton are on the hunt for a new striker after big money summer signing Ross Stewart was ruled out for the rest of the season with a hamstring injury, while the Saints could lose Che Adams amid reported interest from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Hull could look to strengthen their front line after on-loan Manchester City striker Liam Delap was ruled out for up to three months with a knee injury, while Boro suffered a blow as Emmanuel Latte Lath was forced off in the Carabao Cup win over Chelsea on Tuesday night, leaving Josh Coburn as their only fit striker.
