“He’s in the best of hands with our rehabilitation staff.”
“He and his mother-in-law were being a little bit more intimate than one would expect”
The 2024 campaign of Brisbane Broncos wide receiver Jesse Arthars has taken a blow after he hurt himself during practice on Wednesday.
The team has revealed that Arthars had an MRI on his left ankle to assess the extent of his injury after he awkwardly landed on it during a workout.
“Jesse sprained his ankle yesterday during training,” stated Dave Ballard, the head of performance for the Broncos.
“We plan to have him back in the game for the Mackay trial against the Cowboys.
“He’s in the best of hands with our rehabilitation staff.”
Arthars is coming off a breakthrough season in 2023, when he played in the Grand Final against the Penrith Panthers and took the wing position from veteran Corey Oates.
Given that Selwyn Coboo will be moving into the centers and Herbie Farnworth has left for the Dolphins, the Broncos will be hoping the 25-year-old can maintain his strong play this season.
Coach Kevin Walters verified Cobbo’s move from the wing to the centers as they try to accommodate either rookie Deine Mariner or seasoned player Corey Oates in the shocking lineup.
“That’s the plan – to move him into that role,” Walters told the journalists per News Corp.
“I think he feels more at ease in the centers than on the wings.”
He has performed admirably there thus far. When we actually start playing and he has to start making tackles and doing all the other things that great centers do, I suppose we’ll learn more.
