Updates on Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic’s injuries for the Jazz-Mavericks

The Utah Jazz will play the Dallas Mavericks in Salt Lake City in their first game of the new year. Before the game, the Dallas Mavericks might be without a few important players.

Maxi Kleber (toe) is out, and Luka Doncic (quadricep), Kyrie Irving (heel), Dante Exum (heel), and Seth Curry (illness) are all questionable. There isn’t anyone listed as injured for the Jazz right now.

Since the beginning of the previous season, when they won their first 10 games out of 13, the Jazz are playing their best basketball. Utah is just 2.5 games out of the play-in tournament after having won seven of its last ten games.

Will Hardy, the head coach, appears to have found a rotation that works. The addition of Simone Fontecchio, Kris Dunn, and Collin Sexton to the starting lineup seems to be a permanent change going forward. As a result, Walker Kessler, Jordan Clarkson, and Keyonte George are the primary players who contribute off the bench. The reserves have averaged 47.4 points per game over the past five games.

Hardy has been taking the hot hand when it comes to winning the game. George led the way in Saturday’s 117-109 victory over the Miami Heat. In the fourth quarter, George scored 12 points, three of which came from long range.

The Mavericks’ probable starting lineup is still unknown, but the oddsmakers have Utah as a 3.5 underdog. That number ought to alter, though, once Irving and Doncic’s situations are clearer. It starts at 7:00 p.m. MST.
