Philippe Clement takes aim at gutless SPFL for allowing Celtic to dictate their rules

Rangers manager Philippe Clement has criticized the SPFL for permitting a Celtic Park crowd lockout while also commending his team’s fortitude.

The Gers lost 2-1 at Parkhead in the end, but there was a feeling of injustice that day because of some dubious officiating and the absence of any bluenoses.

After turning down their Ibrox allocation earlier in the season, Celtic were once again granted free reign to manipulate the game to their advantage.

It had a noticeable impact on the game, and in the post-match interviews, Rangers manager Philippe Clement expressed his thoughts about the circumstances.

Clement Philippe denounces SPFL

Given that the Rangers were not allowed to bring spectators to the game, this was always going to be a difficult task for the team.

Even though the SPFL board ruled in favor of Rangers, the regulatory body was unable to establish that an acceptable number of tickets were sold for the game due to a lack of Parkhead proof.

After the game, Philippe Clement made remarks on RangersTV that resonated with Rangers supporters: he called out the SPFL.

According to Clement, “I think our players showed a lot of good things today.” “They demonstrated bravery, character, and quality as well.

“That a team has the authority to choose who joins or leaves a federation.

“The players displayed a lot of skill, and while we did make mistakes occasionally, that’s just a part of playing football.”

Manager of Rangers challenges Celtic’s choices.

In addition to criticizing what transpired on the field, the Rangers manager has expressed dissatisfaction with the terrible officiating during the match.

Before calling Kyogo Furuhashi’s goal “world class,” the Ibrox boss praised Celtic for being “clinical” and showed grace in defeat.

However, the Rangers boss is displeased with a stonewall penalty incident that occurred in the first period when Alistair Johnston touched the ball away from Abdallah Sima.

Celtic was quite clinical in capturing these situations today, according to Clement. Similar to the first goal, we must hit the ball away to the side rather than toward the center, or else they will score.

We are aware that we must avoid certain circumstances while using the red card.

Furthermore, the second goal is of the highest caliber; there isn’t much that can be done to stop it, but these events don’t occur every week either.

“Those were unfavorable circumstances, but the thing that bothers me the most is that we did not receive this penalty in the first half.”

“I’m still baffled as to why we didn’t get this handball. It’s a very obvious one, and at halftime, I saw him clearly touch the ball with his arm, and Abdallah (Sima) is no longer there.

“Well, I don’t get that one.”

With the win, Celtic increases their lead atop the Scottish Premiership to eight points, however Rangers can close the gap to two if they win their next two games of the year.
