Sources: Celtic confident of agreeing £30m+ summer deal that’ll smash Kieran Tierney record

According to sources who spoke to Football Insider, Celtic is optimistic that they can get between £25 and £30 million for midfield star Matt O’Riley in the summer, with a move at that point being seen as increasingly plausible.

The 23-year-old wants to stay at Parkhead in the January transfer window and is loving his football under Brendan Rodgers, according to information obtained by Football Insider on December 29.

O’Riley is reportedly attracting a lot of interest from teams in England and throughout Europe in January, but the Hoops would need to get a record-breaking offer before they would even consider allowing him to leave in the middle of the season.

It is anticipated that potential clubs will continue to be interested in making a transfer as we approach the main summer window, sources informed Football Insider.

The club would set a new record for departure if Rodgers’ team were to arrange a deal worth more than £25 million for O’Riley, surpassing the reported sales of £25 million made by Jota and Kieran Tierney.

West Ham United, a Premier League team, has dispatched scouts to observe the Denmark international in action this season, as disclosed by Football Insider on December 26.

The Fulham academy graduate is expected to fetch a large profit for the club, since they paid MK Dons an estimated £1.55 million in January 2022.

This season, the center midfielder has been a constant for the Hoops, participating in all except one contest across all competitions.

In 26 games, he has nine goals and eight assists, including three during the Hoops’ Champions League group stage run.

Football Insider (December 28) was also informed by sources that the Hoops have prioritized signing a striker and have a three-man January target list.
