Rico Browne, a defender for Birmingham City, has joined Rushall Olympic on loan, the team’s official website has announced.

The young player has been given permission by Birmingham City to leave and gain experience.

Browne, 20, will meet up with Callum Sullivan, a teammate of the Blues, at Dales Lane.

Next month, the two are scheduled to return to St Andrew’s.

Loan withdrawal from Birmingham City

In order to accelerate Browne’s development, Birmingham will be hoping that he can log a lot of game time over the next four weeks.

Given the opportunity to improve his fitness, this temporary leave makes sense. Despite his injuries this season, he has managed to play in 14 games for Steve Spooner’s Blues Under-21 team, which has helped them win the Professional Development League North.

Browne, who had played for Elche in Spain, signed with the Midlands club back in 2016.

Although the Manchester native has not yet made a senior appearance for Birmingham, he now has the chance to prove his mettle at Rushall in the National League North. They want to move up the league in order to prevent being relegated, and they are presently 20th in the standings.

Browne departs from Birmingham, a team that is ready to start winning more games. The former DC United and Derby County manager Wayne Rooney is under pressure to start producing results because his appointment hasn’t gone as planned thus far.

After their most recent 3-1 loss to Stoke City at home, the Blues are currently in 19th place, seven points above the drop zone. This evening, they will return to action when they play in-form Bristol City on their own field.
