Union Bears, a Rangers fan club, announces Celtic send-off plans for the derby match.

Prior to their significant derby matchup against Celtic, the Union Bears, a group of Rangers supporters, have announced plans to send the team off from Ibrox on Saturday.

On December 30, Scotland’s top two square off at Celtic Park with the title race very much in the balance.

Rangers has two games remaining in the Premiership, both of which are scheduled for the new year, despite Brendan Rodgers’ Celts’ five-point lead at the moment.

The game is well-set up for this coming weekend, but Rangers will need to win without the support of their away fans.

The Ibrox club confirmed that last week, their request for an allocation for the match against Celtic and the SPFL was denied.

The Union Bears, an ultra group, will therefore give their team a send-off from Ibrox in the hopes that it will inspire them as they move into enemy territory.

An Ibrox meet time of 10am on Saturday was confirmed along with the simple message “See them march on” in a tweet.

The Rangers’ match against Ross County has been postponed until this evening in advance of the match on Saturday.

About 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, the Ibrox club’s home match against County was canceled due to snow, which made it impossible for the visitors to travel down the A9.

The Rangers game was canceled “following consultation with Police Scotland regarding today’s weather conditions on the A9,” according to a statement from the Scottish Professional Football League.

“Although the Ibrox playing surface is in good condition and ready to host the match, adverse weather conditions on the A9 means our visitors have not been able to reach Glasgow,” a Rangers statement continued.

Due to the postponement, Rangers will enter the Celtic Park derby on Saturday five points behind the leaders with two games remaining and extra time to prepare following their Boxing Day victory over Dundee under Brendan Rodgers.
