Brendan Rodgers and Celtic are obviously looking to add a striker in January. The Asian Cup has already eliminated Marco Tilio, and players like Yogo, Daizen Maeda, Oh, and Reo Hatate could follow suit.

This might force the Hoops to acquire a new striker, and they are reportedly in the lead race for Wolves striker Fabio Silva, according to Portuguese publication O JOGO.

When he was a teenager, the 21-year-old moved to Molineux for an incredible 40 million euros (Transfermarkt). In spite of stints on loan at PSV and Anderlecht, where he made a total of 51 appearances and contributed 22 goals, he has yet to make an impact in the Black country’s first squad.

Silva would only be available on loan, but Andy Walker claims that Parkhead has been watching him for a while: He stated, “A few years ago, Celtic had him on their radar” (Go Radio via Daily Record). “I recall seeing him play for the Wolves at a game down south. All of them were discussing Celtic’s interest. He is skilled. He performed well and possessed talent. That happened during Brendan’s initial tenure as leader.

Clearly, the champions require more attackers. However, there have been doubts about Silva’s suitability as a proven candidate.

It would be unjust to depend on a player at his age in a fiercely contested race for the title. He is only 21. However, Brendan Rodgers’ judgment must be trusted, and Silva appears to be a man the Parkhead gaffer is interested in.
