The European Court of Justice’s ruling was observed by Celtic Football Club today.

The resolution pertaining to the prior authorization framework for other competitions makes reference to antiquated UEFA statutes that underwent amendments in June of 2022.

It is important to clarify that this does not support or approve the ‘Super League’ project in any way.

As a club, Celtic is totally committed to working through the European Club Association (ECA) with other European clubs to uphold the principles that define European football. Celtic also plays a significant, leading role within the ECA framework.

We are only able to accomplish our goals because of the solid collaboration that ECA has with UEFA.

The ESL is not supported by the larger European football community, and Celtic, along with many other clubs, will keep using the ECA and UEFA to further the interests and safeguard the football family.
