Memphis Tigers will face Iowa State in 2023 Liberty Bowl
WMC – Memphis, Tennessee The 65th AutoZone Liberty Bowl will take place at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium in Memphis, Tennessee, on Friday, December 29, between the University of Memphis football team and Iowa State.
The contest is slated to begin at 2:30 p.m. and will air nationwide on ESPN.
Memphis has been selected to the AutoZone Liberty Bowl by the Tigers for the tenth consecutive year, which is the best streak among non-Power 5 teams and ties for the ninth-longest in the country.
This game, which is a rematch of the 2017 AutoZone Liberty Bowl in which Iowa State defeated the Tigers 21–20, will be the second meeting between the two teams.
In 2023, the Cyclones finished with a 7-5 overall season record and a 6-2 record in Big 12 competition. Oklahoma State (34-27) and then-ranked No. 19 Kansas State (42-35) were two of the teams that emerged victorious in 2023’s last regular season games.
