Berlin Authorities Open Investigation into Rammstein’s Till Lindemann

Berlin authorities have recently launched an investigation into Till Lindemann, the lead singer of the band Rammstein, following multiple allegations against him. The Berlin public prosecutor’s office has initiated preliminary proceedings based on several criminal complaints filed against the 60-year-old musician. This development comes in response to recent reports and complaints that have raised serious concerns.

According to the newspaper “Bild,” initial suspicions against Lindemann involve potential violations under Section 177 of the German Criminal Code, which covers offenses such as sexual assault, sexual coercion, and rape. The investigation, which began after receiving numerous complaints, has now become a matter for the Berlin judiciary.

A spokeswoman for the public prosecutor’s office confirmed that the proceedings were triggered by complaints lodged by individuals who were not directly involved in the alleged incidents. Due to the ongoing nature of the investigation, details remain sparse, with authorities emphasizing the need to protect the privacy of those involved.

Justice Senator Felor Badenberg previously briefed the Justice Committee of the Berlin House of Representatives about the case, responding to inquiries from a left-wing politician. This internal briefing reflects the seriousness of the accusations and the need for a thorough investigation. The presumption of innocence remains in place until the investigation concludes.

Recently, several women have come forward with allegations against Lindemann, some of which were made anonymously. These women reported unsettling experiences, including being invited to after-show parties where they alleged inappropriate conduct took place. Lindemann, through his lawyers Simon Bergmann and Christian Schertz, has firmly denied these accusations. The lawyers have described the allegations as false and stated that any claims of drugging or coercion are baseless. As of now, the lawyers have not commented further on the ongoing investigation by the Berlin authorities.
