And it seems that the man they need to turn this around is also needing a boost. That’s according to pundit, Tam McManus.
The former Hibs man was asked if he thinks Rodgers is under pressure after the 2-0 defeat to Hearts and McManus was in no doubt that the Celtic manager is.
McManus said [PLZ Soccer], “I think he is. And it’s incredible to say that from a manager who’s won everything and who’s had so much success at Celtic.
“But he’s came back and it’s just not been the same. He doesn’t look as if he’s got the spark within him at the minute.
“I’m not saying that’s not going to change in January when he gets some players in but at the minute it just doesn’t look good for Celtic.
“The last couple of performances have been really poor in the league so I think he will be.”
Rodgers’ post-match press conference did leave a lot to be desired. There wasn’t even a hint of the man there who claimed he was absolutely furious with his team’s first-half performance just over a week ago at St Johnstone
The man who spoke to the assembled media didn’t seem to show any of that emotion. As the Celtic fans were all losing their cool, Rodgers did seem detached from the whole situation.
Rodgers has two games to get Celtic back on an even keel. One of them is against Rangers. The Celtic fans will be hoping that he does because losing top spot in the Scottish Premiership to their closest rivals will be too much for them to bear.
