Sunderland will look to move out goalkeeper Nathan Bishop this summer, according to reporter Alan Nixon on his Patreon.
Sunderland have signed Simon Moore following his exit from fellow Championship side Coventry City which will make the stopper surplus to requirements. They are preparing for another year in the second tier after finishing down in a disappointing 16th place last season.

Bishop, 24, remains under contract at the Stadium of Light until June 2026 but is down the pecking order with the North East outfit. He has made only two first-team appearances since his move last year and is used as back-up behind Anthony Patterson.
In this latest update regarding his situation by journalist Nixon on his Patreon, the Black Cats are prepared to let him head out the exit door. His departure would free up space and funds in their ranks as they look to bring in some reinforcements over the next few weeks.
Bishop’s chances of regular game time at Sunderland are slim with Patterson ahead of him.
Leaving would be beneficial for his career and he need to be playing every week at his age.
The former England youth international rose up through the ranks at Southend United and went on to play 39 games for their first-team as a youngster.
Manchester United then snapped him up in January 2020 and he spent three-and-a-half years with the Premier League giants.
He mainly represented the Red Devils’ Under-21’s side and never played for their senior team in a competitive game.
Bishop had a loan spell away from Old Trafford at Mansfield Town back in the 2021/22 campaign and played 53 matches in all competitions for the Stags, 46 of which came in League Two.
