Bristol Rovers beat Sheffield Wednesday and Derby County to Dan Ellison deal – sources
Bristol Rovers have agreed a deal to sign Chippenham Town teenager Dan Ellison, sources have told Football Insider.
The centre-back, 19, has undergone trials with Sheffield Wednesday, Derby County and Reading as well as Rovers in recent weeks.
The League One club have now won the race for Ellison’s signature after he accepted their offer.
He played regularly for Chippenham in the National League South in the 2023-24 campaign despite only turning 19 in March.
Ellison made 27 starts in 30 total league appearances and chipped in with four goals from centre-back as the Bluebirds finished in mid-table.
The teenager is under contract at the non-league side for another 12 months but is now set to step up into the EFL.
