“In front of me”: A BBC journalist describes Brendan Rodgers’ Saturday full-time actions at Celtic Park.

Following Celtic’s Saturday loss to Hearts, supporters yelled at the Celtic board, and Callum McGregor said that it was one of his worst days ever.

Like all losses at Celtic, this one is examined thoroughly, but because of how it happened, the club, the players, and the manager are all scrutinized for everything they do.That’s why Brendan Rodgers’ actions on Saturday at full time seem a little strange. Following the full-time whistle, Kheredine Idessanne, a BBC correspondent, detailed exactly what the Celtic manager did.

“Interestingly, in front of me, Brendan Rodgers is gathering the Celtic players in a huddle to have a quick word with them and then he’s trying to applaud the home fans, but there’s hardly any left here in Celtic Park,” Idessane stated to BBC Sportscene.

Getting together as a group? It doesn’t bother me at all. If anything, I had hoped that Aaron Rodgers would have used the occasion to give his players yet another incredible performance.

However, I doubt he would have in some way. But making the rounds to cheer on a practically empty stadium? Isn’t that a little odd?

Let’s not read the room, shall we? The meaningless rhetoric is not what the Celtics supporters want to witness. They would much prefer see the manager step up and explain to them just how he plans to turn around this terrible run of form.

Hopefully, the manager has spoken tough to a few players who haven’t been doing well these past several weeks.

With Livingston up next and then Rangers at Celtic Park, Rodgers will need to ensure that there is no repeat performance of what was delivered against Hearts or else his chances of winning the title are gone.
