The manager of the Tigers continues to be associated with every available position in the English Football League. Liam Rosenior, former head coach of Hull City, remains connected to managerial vacancies in both the Championship and League One following his departure from MKM Stadium two weeks ago.
Reports suggest that Rosenior turned down an offer from Plymouth Argyle last week, while speculation is growing about strong interest from Norwich City, Sunderland, and now, Birmingham City.
Birmingham City, who were relegated to League One on the final day of the Championship season after Rosenior’s City lost 1-0 to Plymouth at Home Park, seem to be seeking a replacement for Tony Mowbray, who is still recovering from illness.
Former Sheffield Wednesday and Leeds United midfielder Carlton Palmer, who previously supported Rosenior for the vacancy at the Stadium of Light, now believes a move to St Andrew’s would be favorable for the 39-year-old if he wants to quickly return to coaching.
Palmer stated, “Birmingham City will be an appealing option for anyone because they should have the resources to aim for promotion back to the Championship. Whether they could persuade Liam Rosenior to step down to League One remains to be seen.”
He added, “Although Rosenior has proven himself capable of managing in the Championship, Birmingham would be an enticing opportunity for him. If given the necessary resources by the club’s leadership, he could be tempted to take on the challenge and guide them back to the Championship.”
Palmer emphasized the importance of the next job for Rosenior’s career and praised his achievements at Hull City. He concluded by suggesting that any club interested in hiring Rosenior should act swiftly to allow him to commence his work.
