I only mentioned yesterday that I thought Rob Edwards would stay at Kenilworth Road despite the Hatters’ relegation.
The article “as-safe-as-houses” also included the findings of a recent poll, where the majority of respondents agreed with me.
But, could we have misjudged the situation?
According to Football League World, Ipswich Town may be keeping an eye on Rob Edwards’ future.
Kieran McKenna, the current Ipswich Town manager, has worked wonders at Portman Road, guiding the Suffolk club from League One to the Premier League via repeated promotions.
While there are no obvious indicators that Ipswich Town and McKenna are parting ways, the Ipswich Town leadership is concerned that they may lose their manager to one of the Premier League’s big boys.
With being said, our source suggests that the Suffolk-based club may consider 41-year-old Edwards as the ideal alternative.
Personally, I don’t see it occurring; both McKenna and Edwards appear to be bosses with a strong loyalty streak that is sometimes lacking in football.
But have I assessed the situation correctly?
