EFL clubs have unanimously approved a record domestic rights deal with Sky Sports for a five-year period, with over 1,000 matches to be broadcast each season – the highest number for any club football agreement. The deal, running from the 2024/25 to 2028/29 seasons, includes guaranteed payments of £895 million and £40 million in marketing benefits.
A total of 1,059 EFL matches will be available across Sky Sports channels or via a Sky Sports streaming service on TV and mobile devices. This new deal increases the value of the current rights agreement by 50% and provides significantly enhanced exposure for all EFL clubs through Sky Sports’ on-air and digital support for EFL competitions, clubs, and community initiatives.
Each season, Sky Sports will air at least 328 Sky Bet Championship games, all 15 Play-Off matches, and all 93 Carabao Cup matches. Additionally, live coverage will include all opening, final day, and midweek fixtures in the Sky Bet EFL, as well as all games on Bank Holidays such as Easter, Boxing Day, and New Year’s. Each League weekend fixture round will feature 10 live EFL games, with five from the Sky Bet Championship.
