Exclusive: Derby County is in the final stages of negotiations for the Robinson agreement.

Derby County youngster Darren Robinson is in advanced talks over a new deal at the club, sources have told Football Insider.

Robinson’s current deal is due to expire in June, but Derby are determined to secure the 19-year-old’s long-term future on a new contract.

The Northern Ireland Under-21 international midfielder is highly regarded at Pride Park after making his senior debut under Wayne Rooney at the back end of the 2021-22 season.

He made just one senior appearance in the 2023-24 campaign – a 90-minute outing in the EFL Trophy against Wolves’ Under-21 side.

Robinson featured on the bench in League One throughout this season but failed to make a third-tier appearance.

Nevertheless, Derby are keen to keep the teenager at the club following promotion to the Championship as runners-up.
