‘A big football club’: Simon Jordan explains what would happen if he was the Sheffield Wednesday owner

Simon Jordan explains the potential outcomes of becoming the owner of Sheffield Wednesday.

THEY'RE A PROPER CLUB! 🤩 Simon Jordan ADMITS He Would Consider BUYING Sheffield Wednesday

Simon Jordan bought Crystal Palace 24 years ago and served as chairman until the club went into administration in 2010.

The boyhood Eagles supporter enabled the team, which was just hours away from extinction, reach the Premier League within four years. However, they only survived one season before being demoted to the Championship.

Jordan continued to struggle with financial troubles, and the club was placed into administration, while his ownership ended.

The 56-year-old has not returned to a football club since and currently works as a talkSPORT host, yet he recently acknowledged that if he were to acquire another club, it would be Sheffield Wednesday.

Simon Jordan speaks about Sheffield Wednesday again.

Jordan appears to be a major fan of the Owls and their fanbase, and he has already stated that it would not take him long to make the club’successful’.

During a talkSPORT interview (11:57), he stated that if he had owned Sheffield Wednesday, he would have received more support from the town hall, despite his admiration for Palace. In London, it doesn’t always fly that way.

“But, I just think that if you get Sheffield Wednesday right, you won’t have to go far to make them successful because they are a major football club. Look at their fanbase. Consider what they accomplished in the playoffs last year after being defeated by Peterborough in the first leg. Look at their fanbase and average attendance this year.”

Is the talkSPORT presenter a suitable candidate?

Simon Jordan certainly has a warm place for Sheffield Wednesday, and his compliments to the fans are quite true.

Supporters should not get too excited about a prospective replacement for Dejphon Chansiri, as he may not be the best option.

While Jordan initially saved the club from extinction, he also brought it to dangerous lows, and Wednesday already had enough financial troubles.

It was most likely a fleeting observation, and it would be unusual if Jordan continued his passion or even returned to football at all.
