“The only guy,” according to Pundit, is the only Celtic player who was deserving of recognition against Kilmarnock.

To be quite honest, not many Celtic players during Sunday’s loss to Kilmarnock received passing grades.

The team as a whole was incredibly uninspired, and Sunday’s performance was arguably the worst of the year.

Barry Ferguson claims that only one player receives the go-ahead for playing against Derek McInnes’ team after slamming Luis Palma.

“The only guy that looked comfortable in possession in my eyes was Calum McGregor,” Ferguson said [The Go Radio Football Show]. There’s a certain serenity to him.

“I believe that other players gave the impression that they didn’t want the ball and wanted to get rid of it.

“And panic sets in as soon as Kilmarnock gets that equalizer.” Callum McGregor was the only player who could tell something about him from watching the game.

“It seems like they depend too much on him.”

In the match against the Ayrshire side, the Celtic captain did perform admirably. Despite losing six duels, McGregor made five defensive plays, three ball recoveries, and tried his hardest to stop Kilmarnock’s relentless attack.

On the ball, the 30-year-old legend was equally cool and collected. As he attempted to drive Celtic forward, McGregor had 77 touches of the ball, a passing accuracy of 90%, and one shot on goal. [Fotmob]

But it was insufficient as the fifth-place SPFL team came back from behind to win 2-1, and the Hoops ultimately lost to a late winner from Kilmarnock.

The Champions League is what Celtic has coming up. Brendan Rodgers’ team plays Feyenoord in their last European match, and they’re hoping that a victory will help them salvage some pride after yet another disappointing season in Europe’s premier competition.
