QPR man attracting interest, his contract is up this summer

Asmir Begovic, the goalkeeper for QPR, has caught Celtic’s attention, a talkSPORT report claims.
This summer, QPR will have to make a decision about the stopper’s future.

After the season, Begovic, 36, will be eligible to sign a free agent contract.

The Hoops are eager to entice him to Scotland before the upcoming season to take Joe Hart’s place, according to talkSPORT.

Eyed Begovic, a free agent who joined QPR last year, has cemented himself as the team’s number one player this season.

The former international for Bosnia and Herzegovina has contributed to the Hoops’ continued Championship status.

But now that things are uncertain, Marti Cifuentes must choose whether to keep him on staff or let him go for nothing.

Begovic has played in just under 450 games during his career, giving him a wealth of experience.

He will be a valuable asset to QPR in and around the locker room, but it is unclear if the London team plans to bolster their goalkeeping staff in the coming months.

The veteran began his career in England at Portsmouth and made 17 appearances at Fratton Park as a young player.

Before joining the R’s, he had stints at Stoke City, Chelsea, AFC Bournemouth, and Everton.

Celtic, who are hoping to win the Scottish Premiership again this year ahead of their rivals Rangers, will need to find a replacement for Hart, who is expected to leave, and they may view Begovic as a reliable option.

QPR’s most recent game was a 4-0 victory at home against Leeds United. They still have an away match against Coventry City the following weekend.
