Carlos Corberan’s men are in charge of their fate and know they will stand a good chance of extending their season into mid-May by winning. Here’s the latest injury and team news ahead of the EFL Championship clash at Hillsborough.
West Brom team news
Brandon Thomas-Asante is available for selection this weekend after serving his one-game ban. He was shown two yellow cards against Sunderland and had to sit out the defeat at the King Power Arena.
Republic of Ireland international Jayson Molumby won’t feature either. Molumby was around the training ground earlier this month after undergoing surgery for a foot injury.
Martin Kelly hasn’t played a single minute of competitive football this season but was seen in training.
Josh Maja is still being carefully managed. He played eight minutes last week as he continues to recover from an ankle injury.
Out: Daryl Dike, Jayson Molumby and Martin Kelly.
Sheffield Wednesday team news
Di’Shon Bernard was missing on Sunday in the win over Blackburn. He has been unable to train but there is a hope that he returns before the season concludes next week.
Ian Poveda is in the same position as Bernard. The on-loan Leeds United attacker hasn’t featured for the last three matches after picking up an injury.
Juan Delgado is another who has been ruled out. He has been out since October and is not currently registered with the Owls.
Lee Gregory was a doubt last weekend because of a hamstring injury and did not feature in the match-day squad. The injury was suffered a fortnight ago and his future looks uncertain having only played a minute under Danny Rohl.
In the aftermath of the win at Ewood Park, Bambo Diaby suffered a nasty facial injury. Blood could be seen pouring from his nose and he had to be replaced by Dominic Iorfa.
Diaby posted on Instagram: “The nose a little bigger, but the same optimism as always!!!!”. He replaced Michael Ihiekwe who had to come off after just 15 minutes.
Out: Juan Delgado. Doubt: Michael Ihiekwe, Lee Gregory and Ian Poveda.
