Some extremely shady online rumors claim that Arsenal intends to sell Eddie Nketiah to West Ham for £40 million in order to finance a bid for Sporting CP star Viktor Gyokeres.
According to reports, Mikel Arteta informed Nketiah that he was free to join another team since they would not be able to guarantee him playing time the following season.
Although West Ham had previously expressed interest in the Gunners’ striker, Nketiah would have been free at that point. Even though it seemed like they were practically giving him away, I thought he was a little pricey, but £40 million is ridiculous. They will never receive even close to that sum.
Even more annoyingly, West Ham was on the verge of signing Gyokeres from Coventry City but decided against it because of the risk.
Gyokeres would undoubtedly benefit Arsenal as an addition. In 43 games this season for Sporting, the Swedish international has scored an amazing 36 goals, and he just seems to be getting better.
He seems like a great player, but if the Gunners think they can upsell us a cast-off and recoup some of the Declan Rice transfer fee, they might want to reconsider.
