Expected: David Moyes benched the West Ham star following one of his best performances to leave Wolves with a single change

After one of his best games to date, David Moyes appears to be making just one change for the Premier League match against Wolves. The player from West Ham is being dropped.

West Ham recovered from their 4-3 loss to Newcastle last weekend with a 1-1 draw against Tottenham midweek.

The team led by David Moyes will now travel to Wolverhampton Wanderers for a six-pointer in the European Cup.

Wolves enters the match fresh from draws of 1-1 with Burnley and 2-0 losses to Aston Villa.

The absence of several key players for Wolves, such as Pedro Neto, Hwang Hee-chan, and possibly even Craig Dawson, will give West Ham hope.

Alphonse Areola, the Hammers’ top goalkeeper, will not be available.

Key player Alvarez is back in the middle for West Ham.
Back-up centre-back Nayef Aguerd is being assessed after returning to training this week.

But there’s a big boost with the return of key midfielder Edson Alvarez from a two-game ban.

The absence of the Mexican has been great.

Moyes has previously stated that Alvarez will immediately return to the starting lineup.

His presence in the middle of the park is essential to West Ham. It also includes the timing of the Hammers’ purring attack.

So how is the manager going to lineup for this important match at Molineux?

Premier League: West Ham United vs. Sheffield United For Wolves, Moyes makes one alteration.
After one of Moyes’ best performances to date, we see just one change for Wolves as he bench a West Ham player.

Alvarez coming back to the side presents Moyes with a tough choice.

Even though James Ward-Prowse had one of his best games for West Ham against Spurs, we think he will bench the player.

In contrast to his stellar start at West Ham, Ward-Prowse has occasionally found it difficult to contribute since the beginning of the year, before his tenacious performance against Tottenham.

And that will work against him when Moyes chooses which players to bench for Alvarez.

To keep Ward-Prowse in the lineup, the Scot could bench Michail Antonio and start Jarrod Bowen up top.

That isn’t an option, though, given how dangerous West Ham’s new front four appears to be right now.

Alvarez replaces Ward-Prowse, so the starting lineup for Wolves for West Ham looks like this:

Alvarez, Paqueta, Kudus, Bowen, Antonio, Fabianski, Coufal, Mavropanos, Zouma, Emerson, Soucek.
