Wes Phillips, the offensive coordinator for the Minnesota Vikings, was placed under arrest on Friday night for driving while drunk, a misdemeanor.
After being stopped by Minnesota State Police and allegedly blowing a 0.08%, Phillips was taken into custody and lodged into the Hennepin County Jail at 11 p.m. CT.
The Vikings said that Phillips will travel to Las Vegas this weekend with the team to play the Raiders, despite the arrest.

The team released a statement saying, “Wes notified the team immediately following his arrest last night.” “We spoke with the NFL this morning, and following internal deliberation, we decided that Wes would accompany the team to Las Vegas this afternoon. We’ll keep collecting details on the incident and provide more commentary when it’s appropriate.
After serving as the Los Angeles Rams’ pass game coordinator and tight ends coach for three seasons—during which he won a Super Bowl—Phillips is now in his second season with the Vikings.

The 44-year-old joined the Dallas Cowboys as an offensive assistant and quality control coach in 2007—his first NFL position. In 2011, he was promoted to assistant offensive line coach, and in 2013, he was named tight ends coach.
Prior to moving to southern California in 2018, Phillips served in the latter capacity for Washington from 2014 to 2018.

Wade also served as the interim head coach of the New Orleans Saints, Atlanta Falcons, and Houston Texans in addition to his roles as head coach of the Buffalo Bills and Denver Broncos.
Phillips was given a $300 bond and has an appointment to appear in court on December 21.
