The forward for the Warriors attacked Tari Eason for his negative remarks, videos, and excessive game absences. Hey, hold on a minute!
Draymond Green declared that he “doesn’t give a damn about” the Houston Rockets and that he and his Golden State Warriors teammates must handle their own business in the final stretch. He did, however, care when Tari Eason invited the Warriors to “come to play-ay-ay” in an Instagram story honoring the Rockets’ recent winning streak.
After Houston won their tenth straight game, second-year forward Tari Eason shared a video in which he referenced the iconic movie “The Warriors.” Since then, the Rockets have won 11 straight games, and they now sit one game behind Golden State for the Western Conference’s tenth spot.
In the movie, Luther, the leader of the Rogues, a gang from New York City, clinks beer bottles together and calls on the Warriors, a rival gang, to emerge from hiding and engage in combat at Coney Island. (SPOILER ALERT) Luther’s experience is not good.
Green believes that Eason will also not fare well. The defensive and podcasting ace for the Warriors, Draymond Green, criticized Eason’s social media posts on “The Draymond Green Show.”

Green thinks Eason won’t fare well either. Draymond Green, the Warriors’ defensive and podcasting ace, chastised Eason’s social media posts on “The Draymond Green Show.”
Green has long been an outspoken supporter of Eason’s style of play. Upon being asked, “Who could be the next generation of you?” by Jamal Crawford. Green mentioned Eason right away.
Green’s main grievance, though, was that, no matter what he posts on social media, upsetting the Warriors puts pressure on his own teammates, who, to be honest, don’t seem to be having any trouble winning. Due to a leg injury, Eason has been sidelined since January 1. He will probably miss the entire season recovering from surgery in which a rod was inserted into his leg.
It’s a little difficult to come outside and yell, “Come out and play,” and you’re not going to play, Green remarked. “I am a little surprised that he hasn’t played in a game since January 1st.”
Green has, of course, been very skilled at sitting out games this season. He has been sent off from four games, received a 17-game suspension, and missed four more due to injury. Coming out with a podcast about defeating the Rockets while you are constantly missing games is a little difficult.
Maybe Green was so critical because he identifies so strongly with Eason. A gifted defensive player who frequently finds it difficult to stay on the court but disparages other NBA teams on social media? Green was too reminded of staring in the mirror when she saw Eason furiously yelling and making goofy faces on Instagram.
But by Thursday, when the Warriors play the Rockets in Houston, the conversation will come to an end. It’s already being dubbed the 2023–24 season’s “Luther vs. Swan” matchup. Prepare your three empty bottles of beer.
