After Antonio Brown shared an offensive social media post regarding the safety of the Buffalo Bills, Damar Hamlin took aim at the former NFL star.
In an odd response, Brown, 35, used a picture of 26-year-old Hamlin in response to a post on X that asked readers to name a “fictional character’s death that you have NOT gotten over.”
In the contentious post, Hamlin—who needed to be revived on the field during an NFL game in 2022–2023—criticized Brown for exploiting his circumstances to play “lame games,” pointing out that the former wide receiver had only recently attempted to message him.
You DM’d me on Monday, right? Hamlin quote-tweeted Brown’s post and wrote, “I guess you playing lame games on twitter with my situation because I ain’t DM you back.”
“God, please keep me from ever becoming a burned-out old fool like you.” I used to think highly of you, frfr, pretty damn sad. Bring back the real AB with a clone, talk about it!
In light of Brown’s recent social media antics, Hamlin revealed previous direct messages in which Brown begged the disgraced former football player to stop using X.
‘Been in my direct message for over a year talking to yourself,’ Hamlin wrote, attaching a screenshot that seemed to display private messages from Brown’s X account that had been censored.
You were meant to lead by example. You’re the weirdest person we’ve ever met! Go work with some kids or something after you log off of Twitter. ‘#PrayForAB,’ he concluded, adding an emoji of a clown.
Brown responded with a clap that seemed to imply that someone else handled his account.
“I’ll leave your a** sleep in a field fr boy, you don’t know me like that, my therapist told me you NFL n****s self esteem weak n I’m always looking down #CTESPN,” he responded, asking someone to run his Twitter account.
On January 2, 2023, during the Bills’ Week 17 matchup with the Cincinnati Bengals, Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest.
Early in the Bills’ Monday Night Football trip to Paycor Stadium, he was tackled by Tee Higgins and fell. Medical trainers had to perform CPR on him on the field.
The patient received CPR from medical professionals, was placed on a ventilator, and spent more than a week in a Buffalo hospital.
After a remarkable comeback, Hamlin returned to the NFL in October with mixed emotions.
Amidst a months-long barrage of social media posts, Brown appears to have lost control of his online persona.
