Leeds United set £10.27m asking price for interesting player – Sky Sports

When it comes to the planned sale of Max Wöber this summer, Leeds United and Borussia Monchengladbach are proving to be tough negotiators.

Eight games stand between the Whites and a return to the Premier League, which would be a great lift for several reasons, including easing some of the strain in the transfer market.

Currently, Daniel Farke has several marketable players on loan, including Max Wöber, who is playing for Borussia Monchengladbach, the German’s former team.

It is “unrealistic” for Leeds to sell Wöber to Monchengladbach, according to Sky Sports

Reporter Florian Plettenberg of Sky Sports is now stating that the Whites are proving to be difficult negotiators when it comes to the Austria international’s sale.

Despite their poor defensive record, Monchengladbach is happy with his performance this season and would want to have him stay for the long run.

What’s causing the Bundesliga team problems, though, is Leeds’ position over the amount for which he will be sold.

Max Wöber’s pricing on request is disclosed

Plettenberg continues, “This summer, Leeds will be seeking a fee in the neighborhood of €10–12 million (£8.56–10.27 million).

Just over a year ago, in January 2023, the center-back signed with Leeds for an alleged £10 million sum, replacing Jesse Marsch at Red Bull Salzburg.

The £10.27 million sale of Wöber indicates sound business

As it is, the majority of supporters will not be happy to see these players return, even though they may still be valuable if we are promoted.

Even a small profit would be a huge boost because we are better off without him now that he jumped ship when we needed him.

My main concern with selling is that, should we return to the Premier League, we could have to recruit a new center back.

It could be helpful to have him warm up as the fourth pick for the upcoming season.
