“I believe,” said Lee McCulloch following Rangers’ loss to Benfica in his “Monumental Achievement” assessment.

Lee McCulloch has expressed his opinion regarding the possible “monumental achievement” that Rangers can still accomplish in spite of their Thursday (March 14) Europa League loss to Benfica.

The Gers were eliminated from Europe following a 1-0 loss at Ibrox to the Portuguese powerhouses, following a 2-2 draw in the first leg played on Thursday, March 7.

Despite this, Philippe Clement’s team is still in the running to win the Scottish Premiership and Scottish Cup, and they have already won the League Cup. They might even complete a domestic treble at Ibrox.

“I think today there’ll be a lot of people disappointed in Ibrox, fans disappointed but you’ve got to take the positives that they’re still going for the treble, which would be a monumental achievement,” McCulloch said on Friday, March 15, on PLZ Soccer’s The Football Show.

In his debut campaign with the Rangers, will Philippe Clement accomplish the trifecta?

It would be really remarkable if Clement could win three titles in his debut season at Ibrox. The fact that the Belgian succeeded Michael Beale in October just serves to enhance the amazing experience.

With the Hoops primarily dominating in Scotland, the Gers might win just their second league championship in the past ten years, two points ahead of Old Firm rivals Celtic in the Scottish Premiership.

But since Clement arrived, there appears to have been a change in the game, with all the momentum going in Rangers’ favor, which has Celtic supporters furiously unhappy with Brendan Rodgers and his group.

To the delight of the Ibrox supporters, winning the Triple Crown would not only surpass them in the standings but also infuriate Rangers’ opponents even more.

Rangers still have a lot of work ahead of them to win three trophies this season, starting with defeating Hearts in the Scottish Cup semi-final to get to the championship game.

Given that the Gers have defeated Hearts in their previous 13 matches, history would seem to favor the Gers, but Lawrence Shankland is a menace that everyone should be cautious of.
