Steven Thompson has stated that while the Gers strive for a treble, their concentration on the home front would intensify even more as a result of Rangers’ Europa League exit.

On Thursday night, Rangers were eliminated from the European competition following their 1-0 home loss to Benfica at Ibrox.

When the Glasgow giants visit Dens Park to play Dundee on Sunday, they will now concentrate on preserving their lead atop the Scottish Premiership.

In addition to having already won the Scottish League Cup, Rangers are now in the Scottish Cup semifinals, where they will play Hearts the following month.

Thompson emphasized that the players’ departure from Europe will enable them to concentrate more on their remaining home games and improve their skills for the remainder of the campaign.

“They have put in a lot of work to reach to this position—top of the league, one cup semifinal, another cup already secured, and a chance to win the treble—and there aren’t many games remaining.

“This actually helps you focus more on the domestic competitions, and it’s funny how you find energy toward the end of the season when you have so much left to play for.”

Following the match against Dundee, Rangers will have an international break before playing Hibernian at home.
