Agent describes Southampton transfer as being “masterfully conducted” Tight deadline, but things are “quite fluid”

Transfer: EPL club sign Nigerian striker - Daily Post Nigeria

In the Italian media today, Manolo Gabbiadini’s arrival in Southampton was remembered.

In an interview with CalculoNapoli24, Representative Roberto De Fanti discussed a few of his clients and the recent deals he has been a part of over the last several years.

Napoli agreed to sell Gabbiadini to Southampton in January 2017. The Italian side agreed to pay €17 million for his departure at the time.

Despite the little amount of time they had to finish the transfer, the agent remembered how easy that process had been.

Silvio Pagliari was Manolo’s manager, and he was having trouble getting room. From my Southampton side perspective, I was involved in the talks as a middleman. We felt the Premier League was the best option for him because he wasn’t getting the space he needed at Napoli, De Fanti said to CalcioNapoli24.

“The English club had been keeping an eye on him for a number of years. Seeing that Gabbiadini might be acquired, they contacted me to inquire about my potential assistance in the negotiations. A transaction that was expertly handled by Silvio Pagliari, Gabbiadini’s agent, as well as Cristiano Giuntoli and the entire Napoli team. Although it was rather fluid, the negotiation was closed on the final day of the market.

Gabbiadini spent two years with Southampton before moving to Sampdoria in January of 2019. He made 60 appearances for the Saints and scored 12 goals throughout that time.

His transfer to Sampdoria proved to be a great success; throughout his four and a half years there, he participated in 177 matches, making it the club where he played the most.

Gabbiadini opted to leave Europe last summer and accepted a three-year contract with Al-Nasr.

With ten goals and two assists in 16 games, he’s looking very well there, and at 32, there’s always a chance he’ll make it back to the elite leagues.
