Michael Ball and other pundits have asserted that he is use the club as a stepping stone.

“Players like Onana who seem to want to use Everton as a stepping stone to start showing their ability and prove to the Evertonians why we brought them to the football club by getting the points on the board that we need,” he wrote in his Liverpool Echo column.

People like Ball should use caution when making wishes. It seems that the Belgian has been the focus of criticism lately.

Onana appears fully dedicated to what Sean Dyche is attempting to create, but given the criticism directed at him, this could soon change. Manchester United’s interest indicates that Everton has a unique player on their hands, despite the fact that he may be a little unreliable.

John Stones and Romelu Lukaku received criticism on occasion while they were at Goodison Park. Let’s not go down the same route with Onana.

He has immense potential; it’s now about displaying his talent more consistently.
