Bristol Rovers Boss Matt Taylor Says Gas Star Is Performance Guarantee

We Need More Of Him, He’s A Promise, Says Bristol

Sam Finley, the outstanding player for Gas, is a consistent performer, according to Bristol Rovers manager Matt Taylor, who also emphasized the need for the team to add additional players to the midfield position.

The 31-year-old midfielder has been a consistent starter for the Gas since joining Bristol Rovers in the summer of 2021.

Finley led Rovers in Tuesday’s EFL Trophy match against Crawley Town, but he was unable to lead his team to victory.

While acknowledging that Finley is one of the guys Bristol Rovers needs more of, Taylor said the midfielder gives his club consistently strong play.

The Rovers manager also emphasized that his team is deficient in a particular kind of character and mentioned that their display of weaknesses against Crawley Town has shown their weaknesses.

Taylor said to the Bristol Rovers reporters, “He is almost a guarantee in terms of what he gives you and we need more guarantees out there, certainly down the spine of the team.”

“I believe it was evident to everyone that the team was a little sloppy and vulnerable throughout the second half.

It only revealed a few weaknesses. “We need more of a certain type of character and a certain type of player on that pitch in the important moments when it gets a little bit difficult,” the coach said.

After losing to Crawley Town, Bristol Rovers have lost their last three games. This weekend, they take on relegation-threatened Cheltenham in an attempt to snap their losing streak.
