Jared Goff protector is re-signed by the Lions to a three-year, $20 million deal

Graham Glasgow, a guard, will stay on the offensive line for the Detroit Lions after the two parties reached a three-year contract extension, as Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Guard Graham Glasgow is returning to the Lions, according a source, on a three-year, $20 million contract that includes a $9.5 million guarantee.

Although Glasgow was set to become a free agent in the NFL this year, the Lions finally opted to retain him as a member of Jared Goff’s defensive backfield. Glasgow was signed by the Lions in 2023 to a $2.75 million one-year contract, less than a week after the Denver Broncos released him.

When Glasgow was chosen by Detroit in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft (95th overall), he began his NFL career with the Lions. Prior to agreeing to a four-year contract with the Broncos in 2020, he spent his first four seasons in the league as a player for the Lions.

Glasgow, 31, was one of the top performers on the Lions’ offensive line in 2023 according to Pro Football Focus, which gave him an overall rating of 75.1. Glasgow attended college football at Michigan. In addition, he scored an 82.1 for run blocking and a 56.2 for pass blocking. Glasgow played in 17 games that year, 15 of which he started. He also played in 16 special teams games and 90 percent of the offensive snaps. He was given four penalties in all, two of which were for false starts and holding.

With an offensive sack rate of 5.03 percent and fifth-best running yards per carry (4.6) in 2023, the Lions were ranked fourth and fifth in the league respectively.
