Leeds United have been backed to keep the pressure on Leicester City and Ipswich Town tonight by seeing off Stoke Elland Road at City.Due to their 2-0 victory over Plymouth Argyle, Ipswich was able to move up to second place following the Whites’ 1-1 draw at Huddersfield Town on Saturday.
But with the promotion race extremely close, Daniel Farke’s team is a heavy favorite to win three more points at home against Steven Schumacher’s Potters. After beating Middlesbrough, Stoke is hoping to climb out of the bottom three, but David Prutton, an EFL analyst for Sky Sports, believes Leeds will be too strong for them this evening.
But he’s also supporting victories over Southampton, Ipswich Town, and Leicester City, so things might remain the same going into next weekend’s games.
“The winning run wasn’t going to last forever, but Leeds will still be frustrated they weren’t able to see off a Huddersfield side reduced to 10 with more than half the game remaining,” Prutton said in his predictions for Sky Sports.”They have very slightly returned the initiative to Ipswich. There will, however, be more turns in store.
Stoke defeated Middlesbrough over the weekend, and with a victory on Tuesday, they might climb out of the bottom three. However, I still don’t think they’ll succeed at Elland Road.Forecast: 2-0.
