A “special visitor” will be in attendance when Sheffield Wednesday plays Plymouth Argyle in the Championship on Tuesday night.

Sheffield Wednesday will visit Hillsborough again on Tuesday night to take on Plymouth Argyle, another team fighting for relegation.

Despite being in 23rd place in the standings, the Owls have won their previous three league games, including their most recent 1-0 victory over Rotherham United.

Wednesday, who are three points from safety, is only five points ahead of Plymouth, who is in 16th place. The Green Army has only triumphed once in their previous six Championship games.

Fans of Sheffield Wednesday will be hoping that their team’s excellent run of play continues tonight, with Hansi Flick, Danny Rohl’s former mentor, keeping an eye on them.

Hillsborough tonight is expected to host German coach Flick, according to reporter Rob Staton, who wrote on X:

Rohl worked with Flick at Bayern Munich and then the German national team.

In the few time he has been in the dugout, Rohl has undoubtedly shown a great deal of talent and promise.

Since taking over, Sheffield Wednesday has won 11 of its 27 games (40.74% win rate), drastically turning around the team’s fortunes from the previous manager Xisco Munoz’s dismal start to the current campaign.

And with four victories in the previous five games and a third-place ranking in the Championship form table heading into this match, Rohl will be eager to impress his former coach Flick.

Plymouth are a good team to play right now; they’re in poor form and have been poor on the road all season, sitting in 22nd place of the overall away form table having claimed just 12 points on the road.

So for Sheffield Wednesday, it’d another crucial chance to get some points on the board in their fight for survival, which is being made more tricky by the fact that teams like Millwall and QPR are also putting points on the board of late.

Sheffield Wednesday vs Plymouth Argyle kicks off at 7:45pm on Tuesday evening.
