Liverpool Legend Tips Ten Hag to Get Sacked Soon

Manchester City put up a comeback to beat Manchester United at the Etihad. Marcus Rashford’s strike put United in front in the first half and through to the break. In the second half, however, a brace from Phil Foden, and a late goal from Erling Haaland helped City turn the game around to keep their title dreams alive and mount pressure on leaders Liverpool.

While the result is not shocking, as fans had already anticipated, it puts more pressure on United manager Erik Ten Hag who could be the latest Premier League manager to be sacked.

Bein Sports pundit and former Liverpool player Jason McAteer is one of those who believe that results and performances like this could get the Dutchman sacked at the end of the season.

Speaking during the Manchester derby on Bein Sports, he said:

“That’s why you don’t last at the end of the season. I honestly don’t think he’ll be there at the end of the season for next season. Jim Ratcliffe will see that and it’s just not good enough for a Manchester United team. He did it at Liverpool, now he’s done it at Man City. He gets away with it against the lesser teams but against the better sides he just gets found out.”

Ten Hag’s team did very little to unsettle their opponent and managed only three shots in the game, with Rashford’s strike being the only shot on target. Lower ranking teams have faced Man City this season, and have pulled off better performances.

The result makes United’s top four race even more difficult, as it leaves them 11 points behind Villa who are in fourth place.
