Jack Butland’s performance to Rangers this season has been praised by Craig Moore, who believes that the goalkeeper’s “deserved” call-up to the England national team would be “massive” for Scottish football.
The 48-year-old, renowned Australian center back was speaking in the midst of a lot of attention about Jack Butland’s international status. He is well-versed in the hardships of life at the Rangers.
This week, reports surfaced indicating that the 30-year-old goalkeeper for Rangers, who has made nine caps, may be headed back to the England team after a break of more than five years.

Moore believes that the goalie has contributed greatly to the team this season and feels that he should be called up for the forthcoming friendly against Belgium and Brazil.
When asked how it might affect Scottish football, Craig Moore responded, “I think it would be massive.” “And it would be justified given what (Jack) Butland has accomplished this season.
“He’s a fantastic goalie who joined the team this season. The best compliment I can give Butland is that, generally speaking, when someone has a career as amazing as Allan McGregor’s before you, there will sometimes be rumblings and discussions that continue, but this hasn’t happened with him.
“From the first day, Butland has been on point and hasn’t missed a beat. He was there to make the big, big saves, even when the Rangers were not playing their best football at times.
As a defender, I can attest that mistakes are made occasionally. Everyone is much more confident when they have a goalie who can rescue you from a tight spot and make the crucial save.
“This season, I believe Butland has delivered that.”
Will Rangers’ goalie be called up to England?
This week, manager Philippe Clement also endorsed Rangers goalkeeper Jack Butland for England, adding to Craig Moore’s endorsement.
Of course, Gareth Southgate has the final say, but everything seems to point toward a possible recall to the starting lineup.
If the call comes through it’ll be a massive commendation of the form of Jack Butland at Rangers and whether he plays or not, it will be cause for celebration.
