Star, who left Rangers, confirms first transfer as “quality player” makes immediate impact with outstanding debut.

Josh McPake made his first move since leaving Rangers by agreeing to a contract with Stirling Albion that runs through the end of the season.

The highly-rated talent from Ibrox, the winger made his debut under Steven Gerrard. He played for Rangers as a senior once, and he has had multiple loans from the Premier League team. His only appearance at Ibrox was during a Europa League qualifying match versus St. Joseph’s.

McPake joined the Light Blues this season, however he left in September and hasn’t played for a team on a regular basis since. This week, Darren Young, the manager of the Binos, gave him the opportunity to return to League One play through the conclusion of the season, ending his period of free agency.

He was put right into the starting lineup and had a significant effect on the team’s 4-0 victory over Edinburgh City. Paul McLean’s effort kept the score 1-0 for the Forthbank hosts, but he added a “stunning” free kick to make it two, according to the Binos X report.

McPake played his debut for 67 minutes before another McLean goal and a Dale Hilson effort put an end to Edinburgh. Prior to the game, Boss Young stated on Stirling Albion’s website, “We are thrilled to have Josh on board.” He’s a talented player who will join the team and make it better.

“I have no doubt that he can create, score goals, and give us the cutting edge we’ve been missing in the last third.”

Indeed, McPake has a ton of senior experience. He has been on loan at Queen’s Park, Tranmere Rovers, Morton, Morecambe, Dundee, and Harrogate Town.
